The Strokes

The Strokes

There's just five days till NME Radio launches - make your vote count

There are just five days to go to the launch of NME Radio - and the vote for the first song that will be played is tighter than ever.

The station goes live at 11am on June 24 and can be heard on Sky channel 0184, Virgin Media channel 975 or via NME.COM/radio.

We're giving you the chance to vote for the first song ever to be played on air, and currently Muse's 'Knights Of Cydonia' is in first place, but there is strong competition from The Strokes, Blur, The Beatles, Oasis and many more.

To have your say head to NME.COM/nmeradiolaunch now and rate your selections.

Then make sure you tune in on June 24 at 11am to find out who's won, and check out our brand new radio station.

muse ARE boring, please not muse. i used to like them, but i found out they just steal songs from classic music and rework it.

Well not the Strokes there one of the worst bands I've ever heard. Blur are alright but it's between the other two. Muse World Class, how can you say there boring, you got ears chap haha, but When Oasis are involved there is only one winner, Nice on Mr Gallagher I look foward to sweet victory and the new album.

has to be Arctic Monkeys- not only the most brilliant song but a true indie band which inspires me and my mates.

I don't need the boring dullards Oasis, the slightly interesting Blur or even the very entertaining Strokes... Knights of Cydonia will do me very nicely thank you!

Lewis is absolutely right! Its definitely the most relevant song! I mean the first line is "Radio - live transmission" and then "dance, dance, dance to the radio". And its amazing!

my choice would be oasis live forever...other good ones would be something like kasabian-club foot, kings of leon-four kicks, stereophonics-local boy in the photograph, primal scream-kill all hippies

I second the motion on Transmission.

Transmission is a good shout, or Digital, or Shadowplay, really though, it has to be a Joy Division song in my eyes. muse??? dont be silly!

Clearly, none of you cared enough to vote for your "favorite bands who are so much better than Muse", seeing as Muse (deservedly) won the poll. So much for fan support. Muse are the winners here, so next time actually try practising what you preach: at least there wouldn't be so many washover bands to trample over.
