Funeral For A Friend

Walk Away

Funeral For A Friend, like most practitioners of modern misery-pop, spend most of their time wobbling on a tightrope over treacherous waters in which snapping crocodiles of absurd bombast and stadium lameness snap. ‘Walk Away’ represents one of the many times when the forefathers of that noble genre they call Welsh emo (‘Wemo’ anyone? No? OK then) fall in, it being a big sweaty chunk of drivetime blubber that wouldn’t be out of place on a Bryan Adams album. And Bryan Adams isn’t cool. Ryan Adams is, Bryan Adams isn’t. Don’t blame us, that’s the rules and the difference a letter ‘b’ can make.
